Driftwood is located in Oak Cliff & the Bishop Arts District, which is fast becoming a foodie destination here in Dallas. Driftwood is casual with a pleasing beachy, breezy aesthetic that offers an upscale seafood dining experience. Driftwood uses fair-raised or wild-caught, organic, pesticide free, non-GMO products as much as possible, which we think makes it that much better!
Our first course was an exquisite array of tuna, grilled pineapple and a lot of other perfectly paired items artistically displayed. We also ordered the Littleneck Clams that came with pancetta, garlic confit, pickled aji amarillo and marinated tomatoes swimming in a white wine broth – heaven!
Boston Bibb with shafts blue cheese, marcona almonds, white grapes and crispy laughing bird shrimp. I am already craving this again!
For our entrees we went with the King Salmon that had artichokes, chile oil, maitake mushrooms, littleneck clams and a blood orange bouillabaisse.
Chargrilled Octopus with marble potato confit, manzanilla olives, watercress, pickled onions and smoke tomato vinaigrette. We loved the smoky flavor and texture of the octopus.
Roasted Sea Scallops with oyster root, hoj shimejis mushrooms, Tokyo turnips and charred lime pho broth. The scallops were cooked to perfection.
Costa Rican Corvina with smoke pomme puree, lobster nage charred leek, and truffle-black garlic emulsion. This dish was excellent, my top recommendation out of everything we ordered – although I honestly, 100% recommend it all.
This was one of the rare dining experiences where everything we ordered was absolutely excellent! Driftwood gets a Fortuitous Foodie A+!
