How to Throw the Perfect Picnic

With Spring right around the corner and warmer temperatures on the way, it’s time to think about fun outdoor activities and dining al fresco! We love dining outdoors whenever possible and packing a good picnic to enjoy on those sun-drenched Texas afternoons is now a lot easier with restaurants like Zoës Kitchen that offer fresh, made-from-scratch to-go options. Over the weekend we visited Lost Oak Winery to do a wine tasting and decided it was the perfect day to pack a picnic and make an afternoon out of it. When packing a picnic, it’s always a good idea to bring along a few essentials like plates, utensils, napkins, and cups. We found a great picnic set at HomeGoods that contained a set of large square plastic plates and smaller square plates, as well as individual sets of plastic-ware utensils with napkins. Target is also a great place to find picnic essentials. This type of set is great for picnics or casual summer dinner parties and makes for super easy clean-up at the end of the meal. We also found our festive table cloth at HomeGoods, which could also be used as a blanket if we wanted to set up the picnic in a park.

The hummus trio is one of our favorite appetizers, which includes basil pesto, red pepper, and classic hummus. The basil pesto hummus is amazing! The new Mediterranean baked feta appetizer was quite tasty as well.

The steak kabobs and spinach roll-ups are another two of our favorite entrees on the menu. Truth be told, the spinach roll-ups aren’t pictured because we ate them in the car en route to the picnic because we just couldn’t resist! They’re that good!
