Since Emily selected Savannah, Georgia for her 30th birthday celebration in June we knew we also needed to build in time to make our way over to experience Tybee Island. It’s only a 20 minute drive from Savannah and is why locals call it Savannah’s Beach! Any chance we get to relax by the water we’re going for it. Plus, who can resist picturesque colorful cottages, a quaint light house and waterside dining offering beautiful sunset views!
Ambassador Hotel Oklahoma City
The beautiful Ambassador Hotel in Oklahoma City served as the perfect launch pad for our OKC weekend getaway! The hotel is located in the Midtown District of OKC and is housed in the historic Osler building, originally built in 1928 as offices associated with the University of Oklahoma Medical School. When Coury Hospitality purchased the building in 2012 to transform it into the luxurious hotel it is today, they kept the original facade and medical insignia above the ornate entryway as a nod to the building’s past. This transformation of a historic building into a posh boutique hotel exemplifies the type of revitalization that is currently taking place across OKC – making this the perfect time to visit!
What To Do In Norman Oklahoma
The drive up to Norman, Oklahoma from Dallas is right around three hours, making Oklahoma a great choice for a weekend getaway! We jumped in the car bright and early Friday morning and drove up HWY 35, fueled by coffee and good tunes and filled with the excitement that comes from being on a road-trip with your bestie.
Checking In: Lone Star Court
It doesn’t get much more unique than the Lone Star Court Hotel in Austin, Texas. My husband has been trying to get me into camping for a while now and being the luxury travel enthusiast that I am I just can’t seem to get into it. Now glamping is another story entirely and is something that I fully embrace, which is why I was delighted by the cool retro inspired cabin vibe Lone Star Court gives off! They even have ‘glamping packages‘ including room accommodations for two, s’mores and complimentary Chill Cowboy drinks in The Water Trough restaurant and bar.
The Stella Hotel
On a recent trip to Bryan, Texas, for the Messina Hof Wine and Roses Festival and 5K, we were thrilled to have the opportunity to stay at The Stella Hotel. The Stella is Bryan/College Stations’s first independent full-service hotel and boasts the most refined and modern hotel accommodations in the area. The staff at The Stella was very attentive and friendly, making us feel immediately welcome and at ease. A gorgeous floral arrangement awaited us in our room and filled the air with sweet scents of spring.
A Luxurious Stay in Austin at the Four Seasons
We checked into the Four Seasons Austin the day after our wedding before heading to Cabo on our honeymoon. Austin has so many wonderful hotels, so the decision on where to stay can be a bit overwhelming at times. We selected the Four Seasons since it’s located right in the heart of downtown Austin and hits the perfect balance between luxury and still having those cool Austin vibes. This rustic elegance with attention to detail and a relaxed pace provided us with the luxurious stay we were wanting and more!
