Hotel Review: Sonesta Bee Cave, Austin TX

Sonesta Bee Cave | A Fantastic Hotel Stay In Austin, Texas

We’ve always wanted to explore the Texas wineries close to Austin, Texas and last weekend we finally had the chance to. When Sonesta Bee Cave reached out to us asking if we’d like to partner with them in an effort to share all of the fun and exciting things to do in the Bee Cave area, we were 100% in!

Sonesta Bee CaveAustin is one of our favorite cities and we’re always excited to spend a weekend there exploring all that it has to offer. That being said, besides eating at Blue Dahlia (love!) we haven’t spent much time in Bee Cave and the surrounding area.

We’re always up for a weekend road trip, especially ones that include winery visits, so we booked our stay and started our research right away!

Bee Cave is close to Dripping Springs and Driftwood, which both have fantastic Texas wineries and breweries. We decided to go the Driftwood route since our parents were joining in on the fun and driving up from San Antonio. We visited Duchman Winery, Fall Creek Vineyards, and Jester King Brewery. All worth going to again!

While driving up to Sonesta Bee Cave we were surrounded with the most beautiful views of the Texas Hill Country! We were greeted by a very nice doorman and the checkin process was a breeze. Also, we must note how fantastic their lobby is. We love the modern Texas aesthetic, which was very warm and inviting and even boasts a beautiful grand piano!

Our room on the 4th floor was a nice size for just the two of us and we really liked the Texas artwork adorning the walls. Our window overlooked the pool and showcased stunning views of the Texas Hill Country. Within walking distance, there’s Hill Country Galleria, a huge complex of more than 100 stores and restaurants and an outdoor amphitheater. Our favorites at Hill Country Galleria include Milk & Honey Spa, LOFT for shopping, and everyone was talking about how awesome the food is at Cafe Blue.

When traveling, we like to pack our own toiletries and LATHER all natural toiletries are some of our favorites and come in the perfect travel pack. Nice to note the hotel also had L’occitane toiletries along with Aqua Panna water bottles.

After taking a couple of pictures and changing into our dinner outfits we headed to Meridian 98 – a farm to table restaurant that’s at the top of the hotel and offers panoramic views of the Texas Hill Country along with seasonal dishes that are locally sourced from Texas farmers and fishermen. No worries if you aren’t staying at the hotel because Meridian 98 is open to everyone and the views alone make the drive to Sonesta Bee Cave worth the trip!

We invited some of our best friends who live in Austin to join us and they absolutely loved it saying the views at Meridian 98 are definitely some of the best in Austin! It’s a beautiful, romantic setting and little did we know then when we were toasting to our friendship Ben was going to ask his sweet girlfriend Shannon to marry him the very next day! Speaking of celebrations, Meridian 98 has a fantastic wine list, many of our favorites were on the menu.
